FAQ // listing integrity

Simple answers before we touch the listing.

The short version: the scanner accelerates the first pass, human review verifies the complete customer-facing record, excellent listings earn a thumbs-up, and listings with real errors get fixed.

Listing Integrity

What is Listing Integrity?

Listing Integrity asks whether every customer-facing part of the listing tells the same coherent story about the product. We compare titles, bullets, descriptions, specifications, quantities, units, image copy, variants, compatibility statements, and other supplied product data for contradictions and ambiguity.

How is Listing Integrity different from proofreading?

Proofreading can fix spelling and grammar while leaving the listing factually contradictory. We prioritize conflicts in product information first. Language quality is still reviewed, but it comes after the product record makes sense.

What is the difference between consistency and accuracy?

A listing is internally consistent when its claims agree with one another. It is accurate when those claims also agree with authoritative product information. If every field says 24 inches, we can call that consistent; we call it accurate only when reliable source data supports 24 inches.

Product Facts & Verification

What can I send as source-of-truth information?

Manufacturer specifications, packaging photos, drawings, manuals, approved product databases, internal specification sheets, marketplace exports, supplier records, or other authoritative materials that establish what the product actually is.

What happens if two claims conflict and there is no proof of which one is correct?

We flag the conflict as unresolved. We do not choose a value because it sounds more plausible, more persuasive, or more convenient.

Will you invent product facts?

No. We do not invent dimensions, materials, certifications, capacities, compatibility, test results, warranties, package quantities, or unsupported benefits.

Scanner & Diagnostic Framework

Does a clean scan mean my listing is error-free?

No. A clean scan means the scanner did not detect supported contradictions in the accessible page content it could inspect. It does not guarantee that product images, baked-in image text, hidden variants, customer-facing claims, or the underlying product facts are correct. That is why Listing Fidelity offers a free human evaluation after the scan.

Why does image copy matter so much?

Images often carry the specifications and claims buyers notice first. If the page text says 3-ton capacity but an image says 6-ton capacity, the listing still presents two versions of the product truth even when the automated text scan is green. Human review checks those baked-in claims.

What happens during the free evaluation?

Send us the listing URL. We review the customer-facing text, specifications, image copy, and variants and compare against authoritative product information when it is available. If the listing is already strong, we will tell you. If it needs work, we identify the scope before paid reconciliation begins.

Does the free scanner always show a red warning so I will buy something?

No. That would make the scanner worthless. Critical warnings must be supported by actual evidence in the accessible listing data. If no critical contradiction is detected, the scanner should say so even when that means there is no urgent paid work to sell.

Why does the free scanner not show the exact conflicting values?

The automated diagnostic is designed to prove that a supported failure category exists without pretending to be the full repair. The free human evaluation can confirm whether the issue appears genuine and whether work is needed. Exact reconciliation, corrected output, and production-ready changes belong to the paid Listing Integrity audit.

What makes an issue Critical instead of Minor?

Critical issues are contradictory product facts that can materially change what a buyer believes they are purchasing—for example dimensions, materials, quantity, capacity, compatibility, voltage, or included components. Minor issues are typically language, mechanics, readability, or low-impact presentation defects that do not change the underlying product truth.

What does the V2 scanner measure?

The V2 framework uses four independent systems: Listing Integrity, Specification Accuracy, Buyer Clarity, and Language Quality. Critical factual conflicts matter more than cosmetic polish, and Specification Accuracy remains unverified when authoritative source data is unavailable.

Can the scanner prove a specification is accurate?

Not from internal comparison alone. It can detect contradictions and suspicious conversions. Verified accuracy requires an authoritative reference or seller-provided source data.

Is this an Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Etsy, or Alibaba score?

No. It is an independent Listing Fidelity diagnostic framework and is not issued, endorsed, or calculated by any marketplace.

Does a higher score guarantee more sales?

No. Price, product quality, reviews, advertising, ranking, competition, shipping, and many other factors affect sales. Our job is narrower: improve the integrity and clarity of the product information presented to the buyer.

Pricing & Delivery

What does the service cost?

Single Listing Integrity: $100 per listing. Batch: $450 for up to five listings. Catalog Integrity: custom quote based on volume, complexity, and the available product data.

How long does it take?

Single projects target 48 hours. Batches up to five listings target 72 hours. Larger catalogs are scheduled according to volume, complexity, and verification requirements.

Can I get it faster?

When capacity allows, 24-hour turnaround can be requested for Single and Batch work at a 50% rush fee.

Files & Output

What can I send you?

Live product URLs, plain text, CSV, XLSX, JSON, marketplace/platform exports, specifications, manuals, drawings, packaging images, and seller-supplied listing images.

How will I receive the result?

We return a practical correction set and change summary, plus corrected listing content in a format agreed at intake. Structured catalog projects are returned in a schema-preserving or import-ready format whenever practical.

Do you need access to my seller account?

Not by default. The standard workflow keeps marketplace credentials out of the process. We analyze the materials you provide and return corrections for the seller to publish.

Confidentiality & Tooling

Do you use AI?

Yes, as assisted tooling for parsing, comparison, contradiction detection, scoring, and drafting support. Human review controls paid reconciliation and client-facing corrections.

Is my data confidential?

Client source material is treated as confidential project information. We do not publish a client's listing, report, correction set, or source data as a case study without permission. NDAs can be considered for larger projects.

Start with the listing.

Scanner green or scanner red, send it. If the product record is already coherent, we will say so. If human review finds image-copy, specification, variant, or source-truth problems, we will identify them before paid repair begins.
